Carolina Crossroads Restaurant at The Carolina Inn Earns 15th Straight Forbes Four-Star Dining Rating

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (February 2015) – The Carolina Inn, A Destination Hotel that opened in 1924, announces that its award-winning Carolina Crossroads Restaurant is one of only three restaurants in North Carolina to receive a Forbes Four-Star rating for 2015.

This is the 15th straight year that Carolina Crossroads has been awarded Four Stars by the Forbes Travel Guide, the luxury travel ratings that have been the gold standard in the hospitality industry since 1958 and showcased on ForbesTravelGuide.com.

Carolina Crossroads Restaurant specializes in cuisine that Executive Chef James Clark describes as “Contemporary Southern” committed to a strong emphasis on local fresh sustainable ingredients.

Clark concentrates on three or four ingredients for each dish, focusing on them to maximize their flavors using proper cooking techniques.

“The Carolina Inn has numerous wonderful traditions and we are proud that Carolina Crossroads Restaurant was bestowed this prestigious restaurant recognition for the 15th consecutive year,” said General Manager Mark Sherburne. “This award is truly a team effort and cannot be earned without everyone on our team doing their part.”

“Our Star Ratings recognize the finest hotels, restaurants and spas in the world. These ratings serve as the most authoritative guideposts for guests seeking exceptional travel experiences. Our primary mission is to contribute to excellence in hospitality, serving the global tourism industry as well as the guest,” said Gerard J. Inzerillo, Chief Executive Officer of Forbes Travel Guide. “We’re proud to be associated with the new additions to our global list.”
