Lenore Donaldson Joins The Carolina Inn as Director of Sales

CHAPEL HILL, NC (February 2013) – A fixture in the Triangle tourism community, Lenore Donaldson returns to Chapel Hill as Director of Sales at The Carolina Inn.

Donaldson began her career at the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel prior to distinguished stints at the Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau and Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club.

Most recently National Sales Manager at Washington Duke Inn since 2003, Donaldson focused on the corporate and association markets with specific concentration on medical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, non-profit, sports and entertainment.

She held various sales positions, including Director of Sales at the Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau from 1996-2003 and was a fixture at industry events like American Society of Association Executives, Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Society of Government Meeting Planners, American Bus Association, National Tour Association and National Association of Sports Commissions.

The Purdue University graduate began her nine-year career at the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel in 1987 as Front Desk Clerk and worked up through the ranks as Sales and Catering Office Coordinator, Sales Manager, Human Resources Manager, Assistant to the General Manager and ultimately Director of Sales.

Donaldson received a trio of prestigious honors from MPI Carolinas Chapter: Legacy Award in 2010, Supplier of the Year in 2006 and Tomorrow’s Leader Award in 2002. She also served on the MPI Board of Directors and chaired the Allied Committee of Association Executives of North Carolina.
