The Carolina Inn’s Carolina Crossroads Restaurant Hosts March 12 Hops & High Cuisine Dinner

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (March 2015) – The Carolina Inn, A Destination Hotel that opened in 1924, announces that its award-winning Carolina Crossroads Restaurant is hosting a special Hops & High Cuisine Dinner on Thursday, March 12.

The evening begins at 6 pm with local North Carolina craft brews by Foothills Brewing and delicious hors d’oeuvres. The reception is followed by a scrumptious four-course plated dinner prepared by Executive James Clark and is paired perfectly with Foothills’ craft beers.

The March 12 event commences with passed hors d’oeuvres featuring Carolina Blond Cream Ale paired with Roasted Corn & Shrimp Fritters with Comeback Sauce, Crispy Yucca Chip with Black Bean & Cured Tomato Relish, BBQ Duck Pupusa with Pickled Cabbage Slaw and Fried Green Tomato with Pimento Cheese & Country Ham.
 
The first course features North Carolina Triggerfish Crudo served with Pickled Okra, Caramelized Fennel & Granola and paired with Jade IPA. The second course has Flambé Tart with Speck, Roasted Apple, Goat Cheese & Pistachios paired with Happy Medium Imperial Brown Ale. The main entrée is Smoked Pork Ribeye accompanied by Plantain Tostada, Braised Greens and Sexual Chocolate Mole paired with Sexual Chocolate Stout. For dessert, Pastry Chef Sara Thomas’ Toasted Sundried Strawberry Pound Cake and Lemon Basil Ice Cream are paired with Carolina Strawberry Cream Ale."Type of Scotch" Truffles
