The Carolina Inn Hosts 10th Annual Sara Manley Harvey Easter Egg Hunt on April 22
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (April 22, 2011) – The Carolina Inn hosted the 10th Annual Sara Manley Harvey Easter Egg Hunt on Friday afternoon, April 22 in the Hill Courtyard.
The event provided 100 local children from Project Homestart, Family Violence Prevention Center, Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools and Orange County Social Services the opportunity to hunt Easter Eggs, enjoy snacks and have a picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Each child received a goodie bag of treats, a special giveaway item and a personal Easter Bunny picture thanks to the support of local vendors.
Sara Manley Harvey held her wedding reception at the Inn on August 11, 2001. She died tragically on September 11, 2001 in the attacks on the World Trade Center. The magnolia tree dedicated in her honor in the Hill Courtyard is in bloom and celebrates her life and dedication to helping children in need.
