The Carolina Inn’s Carolina Crossroads Restaurant Participates in July 14-23 “Dig into Local” Restaurant Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (July 2014) – The Carolina Inn, by Destination Hotels & Resorts, announces that its award-winning Carolina Crossroads Restaurant is participating in the July 14-23 “Dig into Local” Restaurant Week.

Carolina Crossroads is among many region restaurants showcasing North Carolina’s best grown products during the peak of the summer harvest season.

“The Restaurant Week concept is one that consumers and our many loyal restaurant patrons understand since it promotes value,” said Executive Chef James Clark. “Dig into Local Restaurant Week marries that value with a local food connection … which happens to be one of the hottest trends in today’s restaurant industry. The timing for this type promotion could not be better!”

The historic hotel’s “Dig into Local” menu features three entrees and two appetizers paired with Biltmore red and white wine.

The three entrees are Sunburst Trout served with Corn Pudding, Bacon & Corn Ragout and Oyster Mushrooms; Crispy Whole Catfish served with Benne Seed Steamed Carolina Gold Rice and Garlic Chili Vinaigrette; and Pork Tenderloin & Confit Suckling Pig served with Quince Puree, Sage Pork Jus & Tart Cherries. As for the appetizers, the Tuna & Watermelon is accompanied by Lemongrass Ginger Dressing, Watercress and Lotus Chips, while Yellow Tomato Gazpacho is served with. Kefir Lime Pickled Shrimp.
