Carolina Crossroads Restaurant at The Carolina Inn Earns 13th Straight Forbes Four-Star Dining Rating

“Very Close to Perfection” One of Only Three in the State

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (February 2013)  – Carolina Crossroads Restaurant at The Carolina Inn is one of only three restaurants in North Carolina to receive a Forbes Four-Star rating for 2013.

This is the 13th straight year that Carolina Crossroads has been awarded Four-Stars by the Forbes Travel Guide (formerly Mobil Travel Guide), the most trusted source in travel ratings and expert reviews in the world since 1958.

Carolina Crossroads Restaurant specializes in cuisine that new Executive Chef James Clark describes as “Contemporary Southern” committed to a strong emphasis on local, fresh and sustainable ingredients.

Clark concentrates on three or four ingredients for each dish, focusing on them to maximize their flavors using proper cooking techniques.

“The Carolina Inn has many long standing and wonderful traditions and we are proud that Carolina Crossroads Restaurant was bestowed this prestigious restaurant recognition for the 13th consecutive year,” said General Manager Jack Schmidt. “This award is truly a team effort and cannot be earned without everyone on our team doing their part. The dining guest experience starts with the cleanliness and landscaping while turning into the horseshoe off Pittsboro Street, the welcome from our helpful and smiling valet parking attendants that set the tone, everyone who works so hard to keep our public areas clean and beautiful, the team who serves the guests in the restaurant and bar and all of those that support that team behind the scenes.”

The Carolina Inn and its Carolina Crossroads Restaurant were also recently awarded AAA’s prestigious 2013 Four Diamond ratings, marking the 16th consecutive hotel honor and 11th straight restaurant recognition.
