The Carolina Inn’s Carolina Crossroads Restaurant Hosts January 29 Scotch and Wild Game Dinner

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (January 2015) –The Carolina Inn, A Destination Hotel that opened in 1924, announces that its award-winning Carolina Crossroads Restaurant is hosting a special Scotch and Wild Game Dinner on Thursday, January 29 at 6:30 pm.

Enjoy an evening of Scotch and scrumptious fare from Executive Chef James Clark, while visiting with Scotch aficionado Gary Crunkleton and Glenfiddich ambassador Struan Ralph. The event begins with a tasty reception featuring Scotch and passed hors d’oeuvres. An exceptional three-course Wild Game dinner with wine will follow. Afterwards, enjoy dessert with Scotch and cigars.

The event’s reception begins with Scotchbeing served with these tasty hors d’oeuvres: Honey Whipped Goat Cheese & Spicy Walnut; Duck Confit Terrine with Fig Preserves; Chilled Scallop, Pomegranate Crème & Shaved Foie Gras; and Seared Lamb, Arugula Puree & Pink Pepper.

The first course features Smoked Trout Carpaccio, Pickled Chard, Pea Shoots, Cider & Lemon. The second course has Apple Leek Bisque, Spiced Honey, Pork Belly & Ashe Co. Bleu. The main entrée is Seared Elk Loin, Olive Oil Whipped Potato, Mustard & Fire Grilled Onions. For dessert, Pastry Chef Sara Thomas’Dark Chocolate Marquise, Chocolate Scotch Mousse and Caramel Butterscotch Sauce are paired with Glenfiddich Truffles.
